Bandai & Sunrise: New Mecha Themed Anime - Valvrave the Liberator

New mecha anime series, Valvrave the Liberator, will start airing in Japan on April 14th, 2013.
Not much is known about the story line or characters as it's a completely new series, but the trailers & images released so far look pretty interesting!
Check out below for the preview trailers and images and head over to Valvrave.com for new info as it becomes available.

Looks like Bandai will be releasing figures or kits to accompany the anime as well!

  1. i have been looking into getting some plamos that aren't gundam and i have not found any other plamos that i like so far. (not really into zoids and armored core kits are a bit too big for me as im switching down to 1/144 with gunpla)
If the plamos for this anime are like hguc releases and the series turns out to have a decent story then bandai will be taking my money for gunpla and this aswell >.<
So im hoping this series is good because it interests me

    1. Have you tried any of the kits from Eureka 7? They're pretty close to HG quality, though there are a lot of stickers included. I built the one for the Nirvash spec 2, and I was pretty happy with it. Just remember, the kits are around 7 years old, so don't have too high of expectations.

    2. thanks for the suggestion patrick,
i love eureka seven as an anime but I remember checking the plamos out before and i wasn't too keen on them
i didn't think they captured the image i had of the anime, i blame all the cool stunts they did in the show and i dont think i would be able to mimick them
But if you have any more suggestions or if anyone else has any ideas i would love to hear them :)

    3. What about Evangelion kits, especially the Rebuild kits ? The quality is near Master Grade, and they have a range of motion quite frankly impressive (minus the shoulders articulation).

    4. thanks for your replies!!

To Danny park: That's a great suggestion because i love code geass!! the anime was really awesome and i love the mechas
the only nit pick i have against that idea is:
the last form of the guren and the lancelot (the ones with wings) dont have a plamo version!! and they were the ones i wanted most!! so annoyed!! but if i really want the guren vs lancelot on my shelf then i will consider getting what ever i can get a hold of.

To Hanayo Asa: Another great suggestion i liked the evangelion anime series, i havent checked out the latest films that have made people go crazy but i'm not really a massive fan of the mechas from evangelion. I think they look more like alien/monsters then a robot, i think its due to the idea that they are monsters if i remember correctly.

  3. a non Gundam series with all the great Gundam taste, I love it all ready, I wonder what kinds of weapons the Valvrave can use because in the trailers it uses some kind of beam rifle and beam saber like weapons

  5. I would not be surprise if there is an animation that's similar to SEED (maneuvering, shooting, beam saber animation). Even AGE used the same sound effects as SEED and some animation.
